There has been a lot written about the “McDonald’s coffee lawsuit”. Most people think they know the facts… but most really don’t. There have been several efforts to revisit the story and discuss what really happened – including Susan Saladoff’s award winning documentary, Hot Coffee. The New York Times revisited the story last year as part of its Retro Report documentary series.
Even if you think you know the story, its worth a watch because, as the New York Times noted, as the story cycled through newspaper headlines, talk show storylines, and late night punchlines, one thing was lost: the facts.
