Have you ever wondered how the litigants on Judge Judy actually get selected for the show?  No?

Neither had I, but one of our local affiliates told us anyway.  Fox 4 KC reported on a solicitation letter from Judge Judy producers to potential litigants.  Producers search out claims filed in small claims courts around the country and then pitch perks for appearing on the show.  Perks include travel expenses, an “appearance fee”, and (maybe most important for the litigants) show producers will pay the “judgment” (if any) entered on behalf of the losing party.

For our Friday fun poll, would you arbitrate a small claims dispute on TV?
